The Hon’ble J.Jayalalitha,
President,
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam,
Lloyds Road, Royapettai,
Chennai-600 014

Dear Madam,

Sub: 2014 General Elections-regarding

I take this opportunity of introducing myself as a Congressman since a long time. I grew up under the shadow of Pandit Nehru (since my Santiniketan days in the 1950s) and later became close to Kamaraj when he was Party President at the AICC.I was elected as an independent MLC in 1968 when Anna was the Chief Minister.

I am glad and proud to tell your good self I was a long time admirer of MGR who became my very good friend for long years. I used to call on him many times in Chennai, New Delhi and Coimbatore where he came once to inaugurate a function at my school in the 1970s though at the last minute it was postponed.

Now, I come to the point that I am a strong advocate for a long time for the Congress party to disassociate itself with the DMK, both when Kamaraj was alive and also afterwards for various reasons.

Now, the DMK says it had come out of the UPA alliance, the DMK can’t be trusted and also the Congress as it is also can’t be trusted to take any principled stand .Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi can’t take any stand on TN political situation and I am one of the few who advocate the Congress must take a neutral stand etc.

Now, I read in the media that P.Chidambaram is likely to stand for Parliamentary elections from Puducherry (India Today).
In that case or even elsewhere I like to stand as a candidate against P.Chidambaram.

I want to request you to support my candidature in such an eventuality.

I want you to think about it.

Knowing well that MGR was originally a Congressman, MGR himself told me so many times, his nationalist outlook is so well-known. I also have friends in Coimbatore, the family whose head (the late Shanmugha Thevar, a long time loyalist of Kamaraj in Coimbatore) was the one who enrolled MGR as a Congressman (when the late leader was living in Coimbatore in those times.

Anyway, India is facing many challenges and we all have to work towards making India a great country, a great democracy with strong foundations and the people driven by strong values.

I have enclosed herewith the magazines I edit and please kindly go through the same at your leisure.

With warm regards,

Yours sincerely,

V.Isvarmurti
