The CM had now sought the Karnataka farmers insurance model for adoptation in Rajasthan state must give a boost to farmers welfare and rural India as new confidence to stand on a self-sustaining development model.
The Karnataka Government’s Yeshaswini health insurance scheme for farmers has been appreciated by the Union Government and has attracted the attention of several States that have sought to replicate the programme.
The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, made a special trip to Bangalore and spent nearly two hours with the cardiac surgeon Devi Shetty, who is the architect of the cooperative health insurance scheme.
The Rajasthan Government has an ambitious plan of bringing mineworkers under the scheme.
Similarly, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal have sought details from Karnataka to introduce the programme in their respective regions. Bangladesh has also shown interest in the scheme. The Chief Minister, N.Dharam Singh, after reviewing the scheme, told that the Government will extend the scheme to farm workers and weavers.
